A SIMPLE PRACTICE ROUTINE

From watching to moving.

A guide to practicing with your own reference.
Not a reconstruction of the film choreography.

01

Watch one phrase

Choose a clear, full-body reference you are allowed to use. Watch a short phrase at normal speed before trying it. Look for the direction of the movement and where the weight shifts.

02

Slow & separate

Try 0.5× playback. Use mirror mode if copying the direction feels easier. Work on the feet first, then add the upper body. Mirroring reverses text and left/right in the whole frame.

03

Loop & connect

Set the start and end around one manageable phrase. Repeat a few times, then return to 0.75× or 1×. Take a break when needed; accuracy comes before speed.

MAKE SPACE FOR THE MOVEMENT

Think in small phrases.

As an optional exercise, count “1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8” along with your reference. Use the first half to notice a movement and the second to connect it. These counts are a practice aid, not a transcription of Chuttamalle’s timing or steps.

PRACTICE, EXPLAINED

A little help.

Does my video get uploaded?

No. The studio creates a temporary browser object URL for the file you select. It does not send your video, its name, thumbnails or audio to our server or a third party. Remove the clip or close the tab to release it.

Will it work on my phone?

Yes, in a modern browser with support for your video format. MP4 with H.264 video is a good starting point. If a clip does not play, choose another file or convert it on your device.

How do I repeat only a few seconds?

Enter start and end times in seconds, or pause at the desired points and use Set start here / Set end here. Turn A–B loop on, then press Play & practice. The end must be at least 0.1 seconds after the start.

Can I download a mirrored or slowed video?

This version changes playback only. Save practice settings downloads a JSON file with your selected speed, mirror and loop settings; it does not export a new video.

Why isn’t there a built-in Chuttamalle video?

The song and choreography belong to their creators. We link to the label recording in our guide; practice with your own recording or a reference you have permission to use.

Can I use this for a different song?

Yes. The local practice controls work with any supported video file. Chuttamalle is the theme of this guide, not a restriction on your practice.

A little context changes the way you listen.
